Chronicles: Documenting Sub-Saharan Jewry is a book of primary sources. It is a resource book for scholars, historians, anthropologists, and phenomenologists. It is a source book for students of religion, African studies, Judaism and worldwide history, and anyone interested in current Jewish and world affairs.
Chronicles is the latest in a Collection of books published by the Edwin Mellen Press. It is the third in a trilogy—with African Jews Describe their Lives and Shema, Jewish Voices Across Africa—which were developed by these editors and published earlier.
Chronicles is a snapshot of the realia of Jewish development of Sub-Saharan Jewry, particularly in the last
two decades. It documents the vitality, and the growth of that development. It also documents the role Kulanu has played together with these communities in developing this new phenomenon in Sub-Saharan African history.
Chronicles is a testament to the richness of Jewish diversity.
