Marie Elwood was educated at Victoria College and Queen’s University. She was appointed Chief Curator of the Nova Scotia Museum, Canada.
Dr. Ellwood holds an Honorary Doctorate (D.C.L.) from the University of King’s College, Canada and holds the Order of Nova Scotia.
She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A. London) and is Past President of the American Ceramic Circle of the Metropolitan Museum of New York. Dr. Elwood is a Research Associate of the Canadian Museum of Civilization, Ottawa. She has repatriated several hundred works from Scotland, England and the United States to Canadian Institutions.
2010 0-7734-3880-7 This is the first publication of the only pictorial record of the British Expedition to Egypt in 1800, in which Napoleon was defeated by Nelson and the British Army. The aim of this expedition was to remove the French Army which had gone to Egypt in 1798 under Napoleon as Commander in Chief of the Army of the Orient.
