John Bryden is Co-Director of The Arkleton Institute for Rural Development Research and Chair of Human Geography at the University of Aberdeen.
He has held visiting appointments in the USA and Canada.

The report identifies and measures the impact of development on rural areas in relationship to economic growth or decline.
