E. H. Blackmore was formerly Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Western Australia, and has also been a dramatist, actor, and stage director. Previous translations (in collaboration with A. M. Blackmore) have appeared in Six French Poets of the Nineteenth Century (Oxford, 2000) and Victor Hugo, Selected Poems (Chicago, 2001); other publications have included literary criticism, translations studies, and psycholinguistic research.
