Traci Roberts-Camps is an assistant professor of Latin American Literature at the University of the Pacific. She received her Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from the University of California, Riverside.

This work also analyzes the depictions of the female body in these novels from the perspectives of space and violence, abjection and national progress, sexuality and sensuality, and visibility and invisibility.
