About the poet: Randy Phillis is an Associate Professor of English at Mesa State College, where he chairs the Department of Languages, Literature and Communications. He publishes widely in journals and magazines, and his first book, A Man Explains His Posture, appeared in 1994. He edits Pinyon Poetry, Pinyon Press, The Frank Cat Press, and is a poetry editor for National Forum.
