Leo Luke Marcello is the author of three books of poems: The Secret Proximity of Everywhere, Blackrobe's Love Letters, and Nothing Grows in One Place Forever. His poems have appeared in numerous periodicals, including The Southern Review, Greefield Review, Louisiana Literature, Burning Light, and others. He has a PhD from Louisiana State University, and teaches at McNeese State University, Louisiana.
1997 0-7734-2844-5 Honorable Mention Award in the Mellen Poetry Press contest 'Hiroshima'. Poems using images from old 16-millimeter film, faded photographs, and family memories, containing the personal history of a man born the morning the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, but embracing the wider historical perspective.
