Dr. Heidi Zogbaum was born in Germany and was a long-time resident of Spain. She received her Ph.D. from La Trobe University / Melbourne.. She is now Deputy Director of the Institute of Latin American Studies at La Trobe University in Melbourne, the oldest of its kind in Australia. Her particular interest is the Conquest of the Americas and their period of Spanish consolidation.
