Known internationally as a specialist on information retrieval theory, Arthur Maltby’s books and articles on other themes include several involving the use and evaluation of historical source material. He has maintained a great interest in Shakespeare and his biographers for many years. Before retirement, Mr. Maltby was a senior lecturer at two British universities, then a government adviser on education and libraries.
