Anthony J. Lemelle Jr., is a professor and interim chair of the Department of Sociology at
John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY and a professor of sociology and criminal justice at
the Graduate Center/CUNY. He earned his doctorate from the University of California,
Berkeley.
