Obtained her Ph.D in Economic and Social History from the University of Glasgow. She is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Central Lancashire, School of Sport, Tourism, and the Outdoors, International Football Institute.

A theme the authors discuss at length is how communities are formed on the basis of sports, and how different identities emerge out of these shared experiences, and whether there is a socio-political aspect to this process.
