Dr Norman Vasu is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Social Resilience Programme in the Centre of Excellence for National Security at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He obtained a MA from the University of Glasgow in 1998 and a MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics in 1999. In 2004, Dr Vasu received his doctorate in International Politics from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth.2008 0-7734-4896-9
This work critically assesses two contemporary approaches to multiculturalism, namely Liberalism 1 and 2. To highlight the shortcomings of these theories, this study examines the relationship between diasporas and more sessile communities.
