Houkes, John M.

About the author: John M. Houkes, after a ten-year business career working for a Dutch steamship line, joined the Purdue Libraries as the first head of the Management and Economics Library. During his tenure he built the rare books collection and compiled A Catalogue of Rare Books, Pamphlets and Journals on Business and Economics in the Krannert Library Special Collection 1500-1870. Using this collection as his primary resource library, he compiled this exhaustive bibliographic work on usury.
